Le\u00a0 r\u00e9seau\u00a0 in\"\"<\/a>ternational\u00a0 de\u00a0 recherche ” Egyclass- A comprehensive survey of social classes in post-revolutionary Egypt <\/strong>” tiendra sa premi\u00e8re conf\u00e9rence annuelle. Le r\u00e9seau est port\u00e9 par le CNRS et associe six institutions partenaires (le CEDEJ, l’OIB, la Sociology Unit de AUC, le CARAM de l’Universit\u00e9 de Ghent, le SCM de l’Universit\u00e9 de Halle, et le D\u00e9partement d’anthropologie sociale de l’Universit\u00e9 d’Oslo). Il r\u00e9unit une cinquantaine de chercheur.e.s en sociologie, anthropologie, histoire, science politique et \u00e9conomie.<\/p>\n

La conf\u00e9rence publique, intitul\u00e9e ” Studying Social Classes in Egypt\u00a0<\/strong>” aura lieu\u00a0le 5 d\u00e9cembre 2021<\/strong> \u00e0 l’H\u00f4tel Flamenco au Caire. La matin\u00e9e (9h-13h) sera consacr\u00e9e aux \u00ab\u00a0Traditions de recherche sur les classes sociales\u00a0\u00bb.
\nL’apr\u00e8s-midi (14h-16h30) accueillera une session autour des travaux de \u00a0Prof. Mona Abaza, sociologue et coll\u00e8gue de AUC, qui nous a quitt\u00e9s en juillet dernier.<\/p>\n

The international research network “Egyclass- A comprehensive survey of social classes in post-revolutionary Egypt” will hold its first annual conference.
\nThe network is supported by CNRS and It associates six partner institutions (CEDEJ, OIB, the Sociology Unit of AUC, CARAM of Ghent University, SCM of the University of Halle, and the Department of Social Anthropology of the University of Oslo). It brings together about 50 researchers in sociology, anthropology, history, political science and economics.
\nThe public conference, entitled “Studying Social Classes in Egypt” will take place on December 5, 2021 at the Flamenco Hotel in Cairo. The morning session (9am-1pm) will be about “Traditions of Social Class Research”.<\/p>\n

The afternoon (2-4:30 pm) will host a session around the work and life of Prof. Mona Abaza, sociologist and AUC colleague, who passed away last July.
