To what extent are arid lands the site of a new agricultural sector that breaks with the old lands of the Nile valley and delta? How, and by whom, have the land and water resources of the desert margins been appropriated? What are the major contemporary socio-economic and environmental challenges?<\/p>\n<p><strong>About Delphine ACLOQUE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Delphine ACLOQUE is an associate researcher at CEDEJ (Cairo). She defended her PhD in geography at Paris Nanterre University in 2019. She studies the agricultural frontier in the Egyptian desert, mobilizing both a political economy and a political ecology approach.
